Sky Castle (2018-2019)The drama revolves around the lives of housewives who live in a luxurious residential area called SKY Castle in suburban Seoul, where wealthy doctors and professors live and their heightened determination to prolong their family’s success. The drama shows how the rich families are obsessed with their children’s education, using every way possible to let their children get into the top Universities.

2. Kingdom (2019)
Critically acclaimed and Netflix’s first original Korean series, Kingdom is an adaptation of the web-comic series The Kingdom of the Gods by Kim Eun-hee and drawn by Yang Kyung-il.
The first season tells the story of Crown Prince Lee Chang, who is embroiled in a political conspiracy during which time he discovers and investigate the spread of a mysterious undead plague (zombies).
Set in Korea’s Joseon period, the series has been renewed for a second season after positive reviews.
3. Mr. Sunshine (2018)
Set in Hanseong (the former name of Seoul) in the early 1900s, the series depicts the fight for Korea’s independence by the activists during Korean Independence movement. The series garnered high ratings, praises and critical acclaims. It is the 4th highest-rated k-drama for cable television.
4. Arthdal Chronicles (2019)
It is a period drama set in a fictitious world, an ancient mythical land called Arth. It’s a K-drama exploring a unique concept with it being set in a Bronze Age, depicting power struggle between different tribes and human emotions and greed.
The first season revolves around the lives of Eunsom, Tan-ya, Ta-gon and Tae Al-ha and their respective tribes.The second season for the series is yet to be confirmed.
5. Memories of the Alhambra (2018)
It’s a k-drama with a unique theme of augmented reality. The story begins with Yoo jin-woo, a CEO of an investment company travelling to Granada, Spain to meet the creator of a game, Jung Se-joo but ends up meeting his sister, Jung Hee-joo since Se-joo is missing. They face a series of mysterious incidents surrounding this new and intricate augmented reality game inspired by the stories of the Alhambra Palace.
The drama is one of the highest rated k-dramas and received commercial success and praises.
6. Vagabond (2019)Its an on-going action-thriller series which begins with the story of a Stuntman who is trying to find the truth behind a mysterious plane crash which kills over 200 civilians including his beloved nephew. He meets a covert operative for the National Intelligence Service and together embarks on an investigation into the accident.
7. Whats wrong with Secretary Kim (2018)Highly capable secretary, Kim Mi-so decides and announce her resignation from her position after working for nine years for the ambitious Vice Chairman of a major corporation, lee Young-joon. The story revolves around the two.
One of the highest rated Korean dramas, the series is based on the novel of the same name by Jung Kyung-yoon. The drama is also the most searched Korean language drama of 2018 on Google (Google’s #1 trending TV show) in South Korea and #3 in Taiwan.
8. Cheese in the trap (2016)
The drama is about the life and relationships of university students. The story revolves around the difficult relationship between the rich heir but displaying psychopathic tendencies, Yoo Jung and his junior, Hong Seol.
It is adapted from a web-toon of the same name and it is the thirtieth highest-rated Korean drama in cable television.
9.Stranger (2017)
An emotionless prosecutor ends up teaming with a passionate and warm-hearted female detective to uncover rampant corruption and the truth behind serial murder case.
It is one of the highest rated K-dramas and featured on New York Times list of Best TV Shows of 2017.
10. Misaeng: Incomplete Life (2014)
The series is based n the webtoon series of the same title by Yoon Tae-ho. The story revolves around Jung Geu-rae for whom the board game baduk is everything. Later while doing internship in a large company, he meets his boss, manager Oh Sang-shik, fellow intern Ahn Young-yi and Jang Baek-gi, a co-worker.
The series garnered high viewership ratings for a cable network program in Korea and it became a cultural phenomenon there.
11. Chief of Staff (2019)
It’s a political drama revolving around the ambitious aides of the politicians (most of them corrupted), who are trying to climb up the political ladder so that they can make a good change for their country and people.
The first season with ten episodes was well received and the second season is scheduled to premiere in November 2019.
12. Love in the Moon light (2016)It’s a coming of age story and youth romance which is set during 19th century Joseon Dynasty. The drama is about a Crown Prince and his relationship with a girl disguised as a male relationship counselor and romance novel author who eventually became a eunuch of the prince.
The series was a huge hit with high ratings and met with praise by critics and audience.
13. Ms Hammurabi (2018)
It’s a legal drama which tells the story of the life of judges through portraying the lives of three judges with different perspectives. The series shows the various disputes that the judges have to settle.
The show was well received for its fresh perspective on judges and its honest depiction of adversities in modern-day Korean society.
14. Reply 1997 (2012)It’s a rom-com teen drama that centers on the lives f six friends in Busan. The timeline moves back and forth between their past as 18-year-old high school teenagers and their present as 33-year-olds at their high school reunion dinner in 2012.
It portrays the extreme fan culture which emerged during the ‘90s when first generation idol groups such as O.T. and Sechs Kies took center stage and K-pop was just beginning to blossom.
15. A Korean Odyssey (2017)
The fantasy romance drama is an adaptation of the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West with a modern day twist to the story, being set in the year 2017.
